Virus!
Hi Guys,
Chobot here. I have not been posting as much because reciently I had a terrible virus which made it to where the screen would go black when you logged in. Luckly, I was able to fix it by bringing it to Best Buy and then Geek Squad fixed it (for those of you who don’t know who they are they fix computers) But, after $200 and about a week without my computer, ALL of my data on my computer is GONE! All pictures,documents,programs,EVERYTHING! This includes all of my blog pictures and videos. It shoulden’t be too hard to rebuild the pictures and programs, I guess I am even lucky to still have my computer.. but this shows a lesson, DON’T DOWNLOAD THINGS YOU DON’T TRUST! And always download a Anti-Virus program before it is too late! Also, some of you may notice some of your MSN contacts (for those of you who have MSN) may send you a random link and it says ”CLICK HERE!” or something like that. 90% of the time that is a virus, your friend is not giving you a virus on purpose though, he probably clicked a link that his friend sent him and then he got the MSN virus, and some of these viruses can not just affect your MSN, but they can affect your computer AND give your contacts a virus! So make sure you don’t click any links that you are unsure about…Be safe!

Sorry bout your comp!! Thx for telling me the stuff about MSN because many times I’ve clicked links that I don’t trust but it hasn’t happened anything PHEW!

Yea my mom kept getting e-mails like the dumb test saying it was from her friends then she got one from her husband and asked if he sent it and he said no.So she tried to exit out of it and it said attention your friends might think your stupid AND it asked for her phone number if she did the test so she had to call the electrician so he could re start her computer and get that off the screen.The people who own those things send you those to get your phone number and call you asking if you want to buy something OR blackmail,so NEVER answer one that says the dumb test or a smart test or something.

That stinks. It happened to me about 2 monthes ago, and I lost everything as well. It stinks ! Good luck recovering
on my other computer i downloaded a bunch of viruses while downloading a program for msn and now my computer freezes and it takes like 2 hrs to open up a link!!!
ELLO!! lol anyway! im really sorry about that chobot! how are you doing on being sick? well, the CAS team is all excited for the meeting so dont disappoint us again! anywayz! you have a vista? i mean that is the vista wallpaper, i have a toshiba vista laptop that im on right now and i have a acient hewlette packerd that works pretty good…. lol this is long. i use AVG virus scan how bout u? i used to us VirusWizard but it didnt do much.. that reminds me that i need to renew it so bye!

I pretty sre i got that same virus, and my friend sent it to me!!! now we have the best anti virus systom there is, and we have to since my dad works for the **…* BTW I got the same new destop.
the only way to stop it from taking all your files with it, is catch it in the act, the best time is when its downloading the virus
THey really need to erase those files… Its called REFORMATTING. it means to erase all data, even windows, they install again the windows and some optional programs.

@Screenhog: Well, there is nothing you could do. It just showed up a blank screen after the Windows logo and the loading bar at start up, it did the same with safe mode. I couldn’t do much. But I do like having a fresh start!

I got a thing like that for playing all of my internet games etc.
So, my dad took the computer for three days ( I was desperate since I couldn’t play Chobots at the library!) and when they gave it back to us, All of the download Adobe Readers and Flash was not installed and the links to get them installed did not work! So, I pretty much freaked out of three non-active days in Chobots and my mom had to call my big sister who was at work saying that once she was home from work can you fix the computer? So, she did and I believe ALL of the memory on ALL of my games got erased. That usually isn’t the fun of getting your computer back from the repair shop.:P

@Chobot: I know how to fix that! It just involves tampering with the hard drive. I can’t explain, unless you know a lot of computer technical terms.

yh, it’s like REALLY annoying. my laptop is like 13 years old and it’s not that slow, but one day my dad got really angry at me and did something to it… he didn’t mean to but now when you try to switch it on it says “operation system not found.” and something like that

@mousy: 13 YEARS?!?!? Haha, that would be like Windows 95 and that doesn’t have Wifi, only dial up. My dad had an old Windows 05 computer and I got it WORKING ON THE INTERNET! We had to plug it in to all sorts of stuff but it worked! I let it load my blog for 30 minutes and it wasn’t even CLOSE! LOL!

Yeah… Basically they just installed vista again |: I was trying out a new OS (operating system) and i installed it on the wrong drive D: So i had to install visa again. The worse thing is i was working on my biggest project in my school i was about half way through |: Grrrr!!!!
